Linux Platform Engineer

Scigility combines academic and practical knowhow to a unique Big Data service offering for our customers. We define, build and operate integrated Big Data platforms, build ap- plications to create new insights to our customer’s data and support customers within the legal framework.

Your Tasks

  • Design, Build, operate and maintain distributed, high-available systems for Data Analytics, either on cloud- / hybrid or on-premise platforms, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies, tools and methodologies
  • Create workflows to facilitate automated setup, configuration, security and deployments as Infrastructure-As-Code artifacts
  • Review, audit and troubleshoot existing solutions and system architectures
  • Participate in customer workshops and presentation of the proposed solutions
  • Explore available technologies to provide business support to our clients

Your Profile

  • Degree in Computer science or equivalent
  • Valid Swiss working permit
  • You are a proactive team player with the ability to work independently and accurately in interdisciplinary projects
  • You are curious about new technologies and willing to learn
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong command of English. Good knowledge of German and/or French is beneficial
  • Hands-On experience in applying IaC and deployment automation
  • Proficient in Linux administration and Networking setup and troubleshooting
  • Experience in setting up secure & high-available distributed systems (SSL, Kerberos, SSO, …)

Your Bonus Skills

  • Hands-On experience in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Kafka,…)
  • Hands-On experience with cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP)
  • Experience with Microservices, Docker and Kubernetes

Professional Big Data Software Engineer

Your Tasks

  • You’re responsible for big data value chains and will provide technical guidance and solutions in analytics projects
  • Design and develop both bare-metal and cloud-based solutions, leverage state-of-the-art technologies, tools and methodologies
  • Write and tune complex near-real-time and batch data pipelines with Spark, Flink and Kafka Streams
  • Work closely with customers and other stakeholders in an agile environment
  • Review, audit and troubleshoot existing solutions and system architectures
  • Participate in customer workshops and presentation of the proposed solutions
  • Explore available technologies to provide business support to our clients

Your Profile

  • Degree in Computer science or equivalent
  • Strong command of German and English, willingness to travel
  • Sound knowledge of programming in Java, Scala, Python and R
  • Experience with big data ecosystems, advantageous: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka
  • Knowledge of real-time processing systems like Spark Streaming, Flink and Kafka
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Experience dealing with large, poly-structured volumes of data and a good understanding of the entire value chain within the field of data analysis
  • Strong problem solving skills & ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • You are a proactive team player with the ability to work independently and accurately in interdisciplinary projects

Data Scientist

Your Tasks

  • Provide guidance and develop machine learning pipelines in customer projects: data preparation, modelling, method selection, quality assurance and standards for putting projects into production
  • Evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of machine learning solutions and operationalise successful prototypes in collaboration with data engineering and platform team
  • Work closely with customers and other stakeholders in an agile environment and propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
  • Present information and communicate findings to key stakeholder using data visualization techniques

Your Profile

  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong command of English. Good knowledge of German and/or French is beneficial
  • Proficiency in Python, it’s data analytics and machine learning libraries
  • Scala, Java and/or other OOP languages are a plus
  • Strong problem solving skills & ability to learn in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business challenges into data science problems
  • You are a proactive team player with the ability to work independently and accurately in interdisciplinary projects
  • Willingness to travel

Your Tasks

  • Development of new markets / industries​ and i​mproving sales​ aligned with the company sales strategy
  • Perform market research​ to identify new opportunities and engage with executives and decision makers t​o establish the sales strategy
  • Contribute to portfolio improvements​ and ​develop quotes and proposals​ for our existing and new clients
  • Execution of the company’s partner strategy​ in the defined territories and local alignment with the partner executives
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Establish leadership and help implement the company’s vision locally at the subsidiary

Your Profile

  • 3+ years experience working in a business development or sales role
  • Experience in data & analytics and related industries
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of your time to see clients, explore new markets and attend industry events
  • Strong communication and leadership skills and IT fluency
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
  • A valid work permit for Austria
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
